The purpose of the workshop was to provide a forum for an interactive discussion of the current status of specific topics in medical diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound. The topics included transducer/array design, fabrication and characterization, beamforming, modelling and simulation, bio-acoustic effects and bio-acoustic signaling, and clinical applications utilizing HIFU and LIFU.
